Its not always easy to get out of a dark mindset. It's always easier when you got someone or something to reach for.
I was planing on drawing a arm pulling him out of the darkness, but I decided to draw him struggling alone, as this often is the case.
It's not easy to ask for help and let out some of the pain.
Sometimes you just got to fight the depression and dark thoughts alone. Sadly.

This is very haunting, and I dont mean that in a negative way. the darkness enveloping him and him trying reach out of it really gives me an desperate and almost claustrophobic feeling. without reading the description, it is still very scary, like someone being chased and ultimately caught and overcome by monsters, but with the description, it has an even darker tone because it far more realistic and relatable. I think you captured that feeling of trying to escape the darkness of depression and inner demons extremely well. Amazing job!
